About EMOM workouts

EMOM means “every minute on the minute.” At the start of each minute you begin a piece of work; whatever time is left in that minute is your rest before the next minute starts. After the last round, you are done. It is a simple way to pace strength work, skill practice, or short conditioning blocks without watching a complex clock.

On this screen, work seconds and rest seconds always add up to 60 so each round lines up with one minute. Set how many minutes you will repeat that pattern, name the workout if you like, then use Start Workout for the timer or Save for Later to store it in Saved Workouts on WOD Clock.

Simple ways to use EMOMs

Common splits are 40 seconds of work with 20 seconds of rest, or 30/30, for lifts, carries, or bodyweight reps. You can aim for the same output each minute (steady pacing) or allow the work to spill slightly into rest when you are learning a movement. Stack multiple EMOMs in one session or pair this format with Tabata or a time cap from other modes on the home page when you want variety.
